Blade Girl 17

Hier ist seit Monaten endlich mal wieder ein Vektorbild und natürlich hab ich eines meiner absoluten Klassikerthemen bemüht: Mädels mit Schwert.. und weil’s immer so viel Spaß macht, gibt’s wieder verschiedene Varianten. Inkscape ist zum Ende hin ganz schön ins Schwitzen gekommen ^^;

Finally, here’s a new vector piece and of course I had to fall back onto one of my absolute classic themes: girls with swords.. and since it’s always so much fun to do, there are a bunch of variants, too. Towards the end Inkscape was choking a bit ^^;

Rabbit Girl

Das hier sollte mal ein schnuckeliges Häschen werden. So richtig doll nach Hase aussehen tut sie nicht, da mir aber keine passendere Bezeichnung eingefallen ist, bleibt es jetzt eben trotzdem bei Rabbit Girl ^^; Irgendwie ist mir gerade so, als sollte ich wieder öfter Mädels zeichnen.

This one was originally supposed to be a cute bunny. Looking at the finished piece, I feel that she doesn’t look much like a rabbit but since I couldn’t think of a better fitting description, I’ll just go with Rabbit Girl anyway ^^; Also, I feel like I should be drawing girls more regularly again.

Some cutie

Wurde echt mal wieder Zeit für süße Mädels. Hier schon mal eins, in Kürze dann hoffentlich noch weitere. Skizze hatte ich letzte Woche gekritzelt. Nicht wahnsinnig innovativ oder noch nie dagewesen – ist mir aber Wurscht, weil’s trotzdem Spaß gemacht hat :3 Wie an der Skizze zu sehen, war zunächst nur knappes Höschen vorgesehen. Ich hatte dann aber ziemlich spät noch beschlossen, eine Variante mit Rock zu machen – und die dann auch als Hauptversion festzulegen ^^;

It was about time to draw some cute girlies again. Here’s one for now, more to follow soon, hopefully. I drew the sketch for this one some time last week. It’s not super innovative or never seen before – but I honestly don’t care, because she was so much fun to draw anyway :3 As can be seen in the sketch, the original plan was to have her wear skimpy shorts. It wasn’t until much later that I decided to add a variant with a skirt too – and then make this one the main version ^^;

Posing in My Underwear

Letzte Nacht bin ich endlich mit dem nächsten Bild fertig geworden. Hat sich leider mal wieder länger hingezogen, als ursprünglich erwartet. Viel zu sagen gibt es glaube ich nicht. In den vergangenen Tagen sah es bei uns endlich so aus, als würde der Frühling in die Gänge kommen… Bikini-Saison also, und passend dazu ein Mädel in luftigem Zwirn, ein Thema das mir einfach nicht langweilig wird ^^

Last night I finished my next image; after some traditional stuff I went back to Inkscape-Land. Once again, this one took me much longer than I had expected in the beginning. There isn’t really much to say about it. The last couple of days it looked as if spring is finally picking up the pace… bikini season up ahead, so to speak, and therefore a girl posing in breezy underwear felt like the thing to do. A subject that, to me, is never getting old ^^

Summer… still

Hier mal wieder was aus der alte Sachen neu aufbereitet Kategorie. Skizze bzw. geinktes Linework liegt etliche Jahre zurück, zu einer farbigen Version bin ich jedoch nie gekommen. Bis jetzt. Dachte mir erst, es wäre etwas unpassend, da der Sommer ja laut Kalender vorbei ist. Da die letzten Tage und Wochen aber -zumindest bei uns hier- ungewöhnlich warm und sommerlich waren, passt es doch irgendwie.

Here’s another piece from the old stuff renewed category. The sketch and inked line-work were done years ago, though I’ve never gotten around to doing a fully colored version. Until now. At first I thought it might be a bit out of place since according to the calendar, summer should be over by now. But looking back at the past days and weeks, what with the unusually warm and sunny weather, one can’t help but feel that summer’s still on – at least in my part of the world.

Red Curtain

Der Spruch ist alt, und die allgemeine Problematik ebenso: hat sich mal wieder viel länger hingezogen, als von mir ursprünglich veranschlagt und das sogar in doppelter Hinsicht. Die ursprüngliche Skizze ist sage und schreibe von 2006 (!!). Den ersten Anlauf, das Teil zu vektorisieren hatte ich etwa drei Jahre später in Angriff genommen, damals noch in Freehand MX. Vor einigen Wochen dann der endgültige Durchgang, der letztendlich zu dem unten zu sehenden fertigen Bild geführt hat. Den Wandel im Laufe der Jahre zeigt das erste Bild. Teile hab ich relativ unverändert übernommen, andere wurden dagegen recht deutlich verändert. Alles in allem denke ich, wirkt die neue Version um einiges weniger alienhaft und kantig.

The line is old and so is the general problem: this thing took way longer than I had originally anticipated, in more than one way. The original sketch dates back to no less than 2006 (!!). I began the first attempt to vectorize it about three years later, still in Freehand MX. Now a couple of weeks ago I gave it another try, which eventually lead to a finished image visible further down. The first image though illustrates the changes I made on the line-work. Parts were kept intact with little or no change at all, others were edited quite heavily. All in all, I think the new version looks a lot more natural and less alien-like and square-edged.

Und hier das Resultat. Der Plan, zur Abwechslung mal wieder weitgehend auf Gradients and anderen Firlefanz zu verzichten, ist ganz offensichtlich in die Hose gegangen. Allerdings denke ich, dass ob des Bildthemas weiche, „runde“ Verläufe und Formen eh angebrachter sind. Ich dachte mir, eine Bühne könnte ein ganz hübsches Setting abgeben. Nicht unbedingt eine Riesenbühne im Staatstheater, eher was kleines plüschiges. Was für eine Show sie da wohl geben wird… :D

And here’s the final result. The plan to keep things simple and go without gradients and other bling bling did obviously fail. But then I think that, regarding the pic’s subject, soft and „round“ shapes and colors are more suitable anyway. I thought that a theater stage might make a nice setting. Not exactly a grand stage at the national theater, more like a small and plushy one. Wonder what kind of show she’s playing in… :D
