Melee Weapons

Ein paar Random Nahkampfwaffen, im hippen Used-Look :D Nichts wahnsinnig aufregendes oder innovatives, wollte einfach nur mal wieder was Schnelles in der Richtung machen. Buntstift + Inkpen auf getöntem Papier.

Wir befinden uns ja schon wieder auf der Zielgeraden des Jahres. Hoffentlich schaffe ich es aber, noch mindestens ein weiteres Bild vor 2022 fertigzustellen. Daumen drücken :)

A bunch of random melee weapons in fancy used-look :D Nothing overly exciting or innovative; I just wanted to do something of that sort rather quick and simple. Colored pencil + ink pen on toned paper.

We’re now on the final stretch of the year. Hopefully I’ll manage to get at least one more image done before 2022. Fingers crossed :)

Angry Beards!

Hier was kleines für zwischendurch. Eigentlich hatte ich mal wieder was komplett anderes begonnen, dann aber Freitag Mittag beim Essen ein bisschen gekritzelt und eine der Skizzen für witzig befunden. Witziger jedenfalls als das uninspirierte Zeug an dem ich zuvor gewerkelt hatte. Also kurzentschlossen das neue angefangen und vergangene Nacht abgeschlossen. Ein weitverbreiteter Irrglaube ist, dass die alten Wikinger damals immer in Langbooten über’s Wasser kamen. Stimmt aber gar nicht, in Wahrheit griffen die aus der Luft an. ODIIIIIIIN! :D

Here’s a spontaneous little something. Once again, I had been working on something entirely different. Then, on Friday while eating lunch I was scribbling a bit and one of the sketches was funny enough to make me wanna work on it further. Well, at least funnier than the uninspired stuff I had been struggling with before. I then began working on it immediately and finished the piece last night. It’s a popular misconception that the old vikings came in their longboats across the water. This isn’t the full truth of course. In reality they attacked from above. ODIIIIIIIN! :D

Tomahawk

Und noch eins von der Sorte, gleiches Material wie der Soldat im vorigen Beitrag. Lag schon einige Tage rum, ist aber gestern erst fertig geworden. Ein bärtiger Rastamann auf dem Kriegspfad.

And another one of these, done with the same materials as the soldier dude in the previous post. Had this laying around for a couple of days but hadn’t finished it until yesterday. A bearded rastaman on the warpath.

Golden Axe

Okay zugegeben, mit der Sega Arcade-Klassiker-Serie hat das nicht wirklich zu tun. Aber ein besserer Beitragstitel ist mir auf die Schnelle nicht eingefallen. Hier jedenfalls mal wieder was gebuntstiftetes. Auf dem selben Skizzenblatt befanden sich noch drei weitere kleine Skizzen, sowohl Schneide- als auch Schießwerkzeuge. Es könnte also durchaus passieren, dass ich hier in den nächsten Wochen noch was nachliefere. Die Größe ohne den manuell eingefärbten „Hintergrund“ beträgt ungefähr 19 x 10cm. Und wer sich über die 3 im Dateinamen wundert, die beiden Quasi-Vorgänger liegen schon eine Weile zurück und können hier angesehen werden.

Okay, admittedly this thing has nothing to do with Sega’s classic arcade series but I couldn’t think of a better post title so please bear with me. Anyway, this is my latest pencil piece. Next to this one, there were three more sketches on the same sheet; both slashing and shooting tools. Hence it’s possible that I’ll throw in a couple more of these within the next few weeks. This particular piece is about 19 x 10cm in size, not counting the manually filled „background“. And in case somebody’s wondering about the 3 in the file-name, the first two of the series go back a couple of years. They can be seen here.

Sketches

Hab mich mal wieder mit Schnetzelwerkzeugen beschäftigt. Hier ist eines der (unfertigen) Resultate. Ist für Buntstift vorgesehen…

Once again I’ve spent some time scribbling tools of pain. This sketch is one of the (unfinished) results. Planned to be pencil-colored.

Axe Girl

Hat wieder mal bedeutend länger gedauert, als von mir ursprünglich eingeplant aber jetzt hab ich es doch endlich fertig bekommen. Ein Mädel, diesmal jedoch nicht mit dem gewohnten überdimensionierten Säbel sondern mit einer überdimensionierten Axt… oder etwas in der Richtung. Der Hintergrund ist wie so oft etwas abstrakt ausgefallen. Nichts neues aber ich mag es, meine Figuren in derartige Szenerien zu packen :)

This has taken far longer than expected.. again. But I’ve finally managed to finish it off. It’s a girl (obviously), only this time there’s no over-sized sword but an over-sized axe.. or something along those lines. The background is a bit abstract, as usual. Nothing I haven’t done before but I like putting my characters in such a background scenery :)
