Der Spruch ist alt, und die allgemeine Problematik ebenso: hat sich mal wieder viel länger hingezogen, als von mir ursprünglich veranschlagt und das sogar in doppelter Hinsicht. Die ursprüngliche Skizze ist sage und schreibe von 2006 (!!). Den ersten Anlauf, das Teil zu vektorisieren hatte ich etwa drei Jahre später in Angriff genommen, damals noch in Freehand MX. Vor einigen Wochen dann der endgültige Durchgang, der letztendlich zu dem unten zu sehenden fertigen Bild geführt hat. Den Wandel im Laufe der Jahre zeigt das erste Bild. Teile hab ich relativ unverändert übernommen, andere wurden dagegen recht deutlich verändert. Alles in allem denke ich, wirkt die neue Version um einiges weniger alienhaft und kantig.
The line is old and so is the general problem: this thing took way longer than I had originally anticipated, in more than one way. The original sketch dates back to no less than 2006 (!!). I began the first attempt to vectorize it about three years later, still in Freehand MX. Now a couple of weeks ago I gave it another try, which eventually lead to a finished image visible further down. The first image though illustrates the changes I made on the line-work. Parts were kept intact with little or no change at all, others were edited quite heavily. All in all, I think the new version looks a lot more natural and less alien-like and square-edged.
Und hier das Resultat. Der Plan, zur Abwechslung mal wieder weitgehend auf Gradients and anderen Firlefanz zu verzichten, ist ganz offensichtlich in die Hose gegangen. Allerdings denke ich, dass ob des Bildthemas weiche, „runde“ Verläufe und Formen eh angebrachter sind. Ich dachte mir, eine Bühne könnte ein ganz hübsches Setting abgeben. Nicht unbedingt eine Riesenbühne im Staatstheater, eher was kleines plüschiges. Was für eine Show sie da wohl geben wird… :D
And here’s the final result. The plan to keep things simple and go without gradients and other bling bling did obviously fail. But then I think that, regarding the pic’s subject, soft and „round“ shapes and colors are more suitable anyway. I thought that a theater stage might make a nice setting. Not exactly a grand stage at the national theater, more like a small and plushy one. Wonder what kind of show she’s playing in… :D
