The previous two weeks we were on vacation with the entire family :) In terms of „real drawings“ I wasn’t very productive (same as in the weeks prior, unfortunately). I only inked two little sketches; color is still missing and will be done soon. Since these are so small, I didn’t want to show any unfinished spoilers and will instead post them once they’re finished. HOWEVER, I’ve been trying out different things instead.
The last project in art class in the old school year was soap carving. I tried it out myself too and guess what, it’s been so relaxing and fun that I didn’t do just the one thing but multiple :D The first two were already done back in June, the others I made during our vacation. 4 and 5 are smaller because I cut my last piece of soap in half.
Besides soap I’ve also tried my hand at stone, although I stuck to drawing on them. Carving, for now, is out of the question. I don’t have the proper tools and to be honest I have huge respect (or maybe I should say I’m afraid of :D) for this.
The first two, the grumpy dude and the zombie/skull, are on two sides of the same stone. Number 3, the skull, wraps all around the stone. The snail shell is on a pretty flat piece, while the others are -more or less- egg-shaped.
And here’s a final shot of the complete „vacation package“ :)
I expect to be doing stuff like this again in the near future. I’m stocked up on „stone eggs“ and soap can be bought cheaply as well :D However, I’ll probably be doing something more conventional next, aka drawing on paper. So long…
